Taking Steps Towards God:

One thing I believe about God is He is very relational and wants to communicate with us much like our human relationships.  Before you become a friend with someone you  most likely take a little time to get to know that person.  I believe that starting a relationship with Jesus begins in much the same way.  In fact is it recorded that Jesus said, "Consider the cost" of following the way of Jesus.  Look at who Jesus is and what how Jesus wants you to live before you begin a relationship with Him.

Many people believe they know about Jesus because they attended church as a kid or they have talked to other people about Jesus.  I encourage you to get the best information you can about Jesus by reading the four different accounts of Jesus life in the Bible.  Start with the book of John and see Jesus through the eyes of one of his dearest friends.  Then read Matthew, Mark and Luke.  Understand they are written to different audiences and for a different reasons.  John was written with all people in mind with a focus on convincing the world that Jesus was the Son of God and those who believe in Jesus can find eternal life.  Matthew was written to the Jewish audience with a focus of convincing Jews that Jesus was the fulfillment of the Old Testament promises and therefore was the Messiah and King of the Jews.  Mark was written to a Roman audiance and he presented Jesus as the perfect servant.  Luke was written to a Greek audience and his focus is to present Jesus as the perfect man.  When we read all four accounts we get a clear picture of who Jesus was and who He is.

Read and find out who Jesus really is and then decide if you would like to get to know Him as a friend and savior.
